Together We Grow aims to promote the social and emotional well-being of people seeking asylum and refugees in the area. Promoting a culture of welcome in the community is at the crux of their work.
Together We Grow invites people seeking sanctuary to get involved in activities of their choice: whether that’s gardening, walking and cycling in nature, cooking and socialising, or even karate! They also take trips and assist with practical items like clothing and toiletries.
Some of the people they support have been tending to a community orchard in Blackshaw Head alongside local residents. They are able to reap the rewards of harvest, including apples, plums and soft fruit from the orchard.
